Role Overview:
Our client, a leading private equity and credit fund with over 100+ billion in assets under management, is seeking a VP of Private Equity Fund Accounting to join its rapidly growing direct lending platform.
Compensation: $160,000.00 – $200,000.00
Location: New York City (4 days in office per week)
Responsibilities for the VP of PE Fund Accounting include:
• Oversee fund accounting processes for HPS' Direct Lending private equity funds
• Manage and mentor a team of fund accountants
• Review and analyze financial statements, valuation reports, and investor communications
• Coordinate with external fund administrators and auditors
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, partnership agreements, and internal policies
• Implement process improvements and best practices
• Collaborate cross-functionally with investment, operations, and compliance teams
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests
Qualifications of the VP of PE Fund Accounting include:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred)
• 8-15 years of direct lending fund accounting experience within private equity
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, private equity structures, and waterfall calculations
• Proven track record of managing and developing fund accounting teams
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fund accounting software
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
