Job Overview – VP of Accounting & Financial Reporting (Remote)
Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Remote)
Atlantic Group is hiring a VP of Accounting & Financial Reporting based in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, consolidations, audit management, and ERP optimization initiatives within a growing infrastructure and investment-backed environment. This highly visible leadership role will oversee multi-entity accounting operations, GAAP financial reporting, audit coordination, and accounting process improvements while partnering closely with executive leadership and external advisors. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, NetSuite experience, hands-on operational experience, and a proven ability to manage complex consolidations and accounting processes within a fast-paced, growth-oriented organization.
Responsibilities as the VP of Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Financial Reporting: Produce monthly GAAP financial statements, consolidated reporting packages, and executive-level financial reporting across multiple entities and business lines.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and close processes.
- Audit & Compliance: Lead annual audits, coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors, and support regulatory, tax, and compliance-related reporting requirements.
- ERP & Process Optimization: Support ongoing NetSuite optimization initiatives, accounting system enhancements, and workflow automation projects to improve operational efficiency.
- Acquisition & Integration Support: Assist with accounting integration, financial analysis, and reporting related to acquisitions, new assets, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with executive leadership, operations, finance, HR, and external stakeholders to support business operations, reporting accuracy, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications for the VP of Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of accounting leadership experience within multi-entity, investment-backed, or complex operating environments is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP reporting, consolidations, audit management, multi-entity accounting, and financial operations is required.
- Technical Skills: NetSuite experience is required, while ERP implementation experience, advanced Excel skills, and exposure to automation or AI-driven accounting tools are preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership abilities, analytical skills, communication skills, attention to detail, operational mindset, intellectual curiosity, and the willingness to remain hands-on within accounting operations are required.
