Compensation: $175,000–$200,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Vice President, Finance in New York, NY for our client, overseeing management company accounting, consolidated financial reporting, cross-border finance, tax coordination, and financial planning within an alternative investment firm. This hands-on leadership role will help transition key accounting processes in-house while strengthening reporting, controls, budgeting, forecasting, and finance infrastructure. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of management company accounting experience within a hedge fund, private equity firm, or related alternative investment manager, with required consolidation and transfer pricing experience.

Responsibilities as the Vice President, Finance:

  • Accounting Operations: Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, expense activity, and month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Financial Reporting: Lead consolidated financial reporting, management reporting, financial analysis, and external audit activities.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, variance analysis, and financial modeling to support business planning.
  • Finance Operations: Oversee recurring finance activities while maintaining accurate financial records, reporting, and accounting controls.
  • Process Improvement: Strengthen accounting processes, financial controls, reporting workflows, and systems to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Business Partnership: Partner with senior leadership and external advisors on accounting, reporting, financial planning, and strategic finance initiatives.

Qualifications for the Vice President, Finance:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: CPA is preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience within investment management, financial services, or a related environment is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, month-end close, financial controls, and accounting operations is required, with FP&A experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, with experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and accounting systems strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong accounting leadership, analytical, organizational, communication, process improvement, project management, and senior stakeholder partnership skills are required.
