Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Join our client’s finance team as Vice President, Alternative Investment Fund Accounting, in New York, NY. In this hybrid leadership role, you’ll oversee private equity fund-of-funds accounting, manage third-party administrators, review financial statements, support audits and tax compliance, and deliver reporting to the Controller and General Partners. Ideal for professionals with private equity or FoF experience and a strong grasp of fund operations and financial controls.

Responsibilities as the Vice President, Alternative Investment Fund Accounting:

  • Fund Accounting Oversight: Manage day-to-day accounting and administration for private equity fund-of-funds, including NAV and allocation reviews.
  • Administrator Coordination: Liaise with third-party administrators on reconciliations, capital activity, and investor reporting.
  • Financial Review: Oversee journal entries, cash reconciliations, and quarterly financial statement preparation.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Drive audit readiness and coordinate tax estimates, filings, and K-1 distributions.
  • Internal Reporting: Deliver reporting and analysis to Controllers and GPs to support performance tracking and strategic decisions.
  • Process Optimization: Recommend improvements to accounting workflows, controls, and system integration.

Qualifications for the Vice President, Alternative Investment Fund Accounting:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 7+ years in public or private accounting focused on private equity, fund-of-funds, or alternative investments.
  • Certification: CPA preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency required, with experience in fund accounting systems and platforms like Investran, eFront, or similar preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of private equity fund structures, capital activity, audit processes, and investor reporting.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and external partners effectively.
