Atlantic Group is hiring a Valuation Manager (Asset Management) in New York, NY for our client, supporting investment valuation, fair value reporting, and valuation operations within an alternative asset management environment. This role will oversee quarterly valuation processes, partner with investment and finance teams on portfolio analysis, and help enhance valuation workflows, reporting procedures, and operational processes across the organization. The position offers exposure to complex investment strategies, valuation methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic finance environment.

Responsibilities as the Valuation Manager (Asset Management):

  • Valuation Oversight: Manage quarterly valuation processes across investment portfolios while coordinating timelines and deliverables with external valuation providers.
  • Fair Value Analysis: Review valuation assumptions, market data, and valuation methodologies used to support investment valuations.
  • Investment Team Partnership: Collaborate with investment professionals to evaluate valuation models and challenge credit and market assumptions where appropriate.
  • Reporting Support: Prepare valuation summaries, supporting schedules, and materials for senior leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and enhance valuation workflows, controls, and reporting procedures to improve scalability and efficiency.
  • Policy & Compliance: Maintain adherence to ASC 820 fair value standards, valuation policies, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Qualifications for the Valuation Manager (Asset Management):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of valuation, advisory, or financial services experience within asset management, investment management, or public accounting is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, fair value accounting standards, and complex financial instruments is required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills are required, while experience with valuation platforms and reporting tools is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical abilities, communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment are required.
