Job Overview – Technical Accounting Manager (Hybrid):
Join our client as a Technical Accounting Manager in Chester, PA, and play a key role in financial reporting, policy development, and compliance. This hybrid position is ideal for a professional with expertise in corporate accounting, complex transactions, and regulatory standards. In this role, you will assess accounting treatments, support reporting accuracy, and help shape accounting policies to align with industry guidelines while collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance.
Compensation: $130,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: Chester, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Technical Accounting Manager:
- Technical Accounting & Compliance: Manage and review complex accounting transactions, including M&A, impairments, revenue recognition, leases, derivatives, and foreign currency matters.
- Financial Reporting & Regulatory Analysis: Oversee SEC filings, assess new accounting standards, and implement necessary internal controls.
- Audit & Internal Controls: Partner with external auditors to resolve technical accounting and compliance matters.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Treasury, Tax, Legal, FP&A, M&A, and Business Controllers to align financial reporting and strategy.
- Executive Support & Advisory: Provide leadership with technical accounting guidance and updates on regulatory changes.
Qualifications for the Technical Accounting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (MBA preferred).
- Licensure: CPA required.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years in technical accounting, ideally within Big 4 or industry-related accounting policy, with a strong preference for prior leadership experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting, with knowledge of IFRS as a plus.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Team-oriented professional who can interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
