Job Overview – Technical Accounting Director (SEC Reporting)
Compensation: $165,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Remote)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Technical Accounting Director (SEC Reporting) for our client, supporting SEC reporting, technical accounting, and advisory projects within a high-growth consulting environment. This remote role focuses on leading client engagements, advising on complex accounting standards, and overseeing SEC filings across multiple projects. The position requires deep GAAP and SEC expertise, consulting experience, and the ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality results.
Responsibilities as the Technical Accounting Director (SEC Reporting):
- SEC Reporting Leadership: Oversee preparation and review of SEC filings including 10-K, 10-Q, and other regulatory reports.
- Technical Accounting Advisory: Provide guidance on complex accounting topics including debt, equity, business combinations, and consolidation.
- Client Engagement Management: Lead client relationships and manage multiple advisory projects across reporting and transaction initiatives.
- Transaction Support: Advise on IPO readiness, M&A, carve-outs, and financial reporting implications.
- Process Improvement: Drive improvements in financial reporting processes, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior team members and support development across client engagements.
Qualifications for the Technical Accounting Director (SEC Reporting):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Experience: 8+ years of public accounting experience with 2-3+ years of consulting experience is required, CPA is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong experience with SEC reporting and advanced knowledge of GAAP is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience with complex accounting standards and SEC filings are required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements are required.
