Job Overview – Tax Manager (Private Equity):
Become a key leader with our client as a Tax Manager in Boston, MA. In this hybrid role, you will oversee tax compliance, planning, and reporting for private equity funds, ensuring regulatory adherence and optimizing tax strategies. Collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, you will manage tax filings, investor communications, and drive strategic initiatives.
Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Tax Manager (Private Equity):
- Tax Compliance: Oversee preparation and review of partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- K-1s and Reporting: Manage K-1s, PFIC statements, and related materials for fund investors.
- Strategic Tax Planning: Develop tax strategies and advise on transaction and investment implications.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct analyses on fund allocations and incentive models to identify tax opportunities.
- Collaboration: Partner with Finance, Investor Relations, and leadership on tax strategies and reporting.
- Process Improvement: Enhance policies, procedures, and internal controls for compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications for the Tax Manager (Private Equity):
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field required.
- Certification: CPA license is mandatory.
- Experience: 8-10 years of tax experience in private debt, private equity, or investment management, with strong fund partnership accounting and reporting expertise.
- Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and goal-oriented mindset.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software, Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of GAAP fund accounting and investment valuation (experience with investment management systems preferred).
