Job Overview – Tax Manager (Alternative Investments):
Compensation: $135,000 – $150,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Tax Manager (Alternative Investments) in Boston, MA for our client. This hybrid role manages tax reporting and compliance for alternative investment funds, partnerships, and co-investment entities. You’ll oversee external CPA firms, review tax filings, and interpret partnership agreements to ensure accurate allocations and reporting. Responsibilities as the Tax Manager (Alternative Investments):
- Tax Compliance & Review: Oversee and approve tax workpapers, federal and state returns, and K-1s for funds, GPs, and co-investment entities.
- Partnership Tax Management: Review partnership tax returns and assess allocations, contributions, and distributions across fund structures.
- CPA & Vendor Oversight: Manage outsourced CPA firms to ensure timely, accurate deliverables and adherence to internal standards.
- Withholding & Investor Reporting: Identify tax withholding requirements, maintain partner data for K-1s, and address investor inquiries.
- Process & Project Management: Streamline workflows, manage project trackers, and support ad-hoc tax initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications for the Tax Manager (Alternative Investments):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 5-8 years of partnership tax experience, preferably from Big 4 public accounting and the alternative investment industry.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with working knowledge of partnership tax software and fund accounting systems preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of partnership taxation, private equity and hedge fund structures, and multi-state tax compliance.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, collaborative professional with excellent communication skills, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
