Compensation: $55,000 – $60,000/year + bonus
Location: St. Louis, MO
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant (Corporate Accounting) in St. Louis, MO for our client. In this in-office role, you will support corporate accounting operations by managing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting while assisting with month-end close and audit preparation. You will work with advanced Excel spreadsheets and accounting systems to maintain accurate financial records, support GAAP compliance, and drive process improvements across the department.

Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant (Corporate Accounting):

  • General Ledger & Close: Prepare journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and support month-end close to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Maintain financial records, balance sheets, and supporting schedules while meeting all internal deadlines.
  • Accounts Receivable: Support AR activity, including customer payment documentation and revenue reconciliations.
  • Audit & Compliance: Assist with audit requests and ensure adherence to GAAP and SOX-related controls.
  • Process & Reporting Improvements: Enhance accounting workflows and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets for analysis and reporting.

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant (Corporate Accounting):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience, with strong exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills, and experience working with accounting software platforms.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and corporate accounting workflows.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented professional with strong analytical abilities, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
