Job Overview – Staff Accountant (Construction):
Take on a pivotal role with our construction client in Woodbury, NJ, as a Staff Accountant, working closely with the project management team to ensure precise tracking of construction project finances and contribute to overall financial success.
Compensation: $60,000 – $75,000/year + bonus
Location: Woodbury, NJ
Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant:
- AIA Documentation: Prepare and submit AIA documentation for owner’s billings, ensuring all required supporting documentation is accurate.
- Management: Review and process subcontractor payment applications and maintain up-to-date records of subcontractor invoices, purchase orders, and insurance certificates.
- Cost Monitoring: Audit and reconcile job cost detail, update job budgets, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Payroll & Tax Preparation: Handle in-house payroll, prepare sales tax returns, and assist with month-end close tasks including bank reconciliations.
- Project Close-Out: Assist in finalizing project close-outs and maintain the general ledger.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Experience: 2+ years of proven Construction Accounting experience.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure situations.
- Technological Skills: Proficiency with Procore, Spectrum, and Excel is preferred.
