Job Overview – Staff Accountant
Compensation: $65,000–$80,000/year + bonus
Location: Montgomery County, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant in Montgomery County, PA for our client, supporting corporate accounting, general ledger activities, financial reporting, and month-end close within a growing organization. This role will provide broad exposure across the accounting function, including reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, financial schedules, reporting, and process improvement. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of general ledger or public accounting experience with strong Excel skills and an interest in gaining hands-on exposure across corporate accounting operations.
Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant:
- General Ledger Accounting: Support general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting functions.
- Month-End Close: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and the preparation of supporting financial schedules.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, account analyses, and supporting documentation for internal and external reporting.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Support invoice processing, payments, receivables, and related accounting activities as needed.
- Financial Analysis: Assist with budget tracking, variance analysis, and supporting financial documentation.
- Audit & Process Improvement: Support audit requests while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 2+ years of general ledger, corporate accounting, public accounting, or related experience is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting or ERP systems are required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong organizational, communication, initiative, attention to detail, teamwork, and ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines are required.
