Job Overview – Senior Valuation Associate (Private Credit)
Compensation: $95,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Valuation Associate (Private Credit) in Boston, MA for our client, supporting valuation and portfolio analysis across private credit investments. In this in-office role, you will perform quarterly valuations, analyze portfolio performance, and partner with deal teams, finance, and external valuation providers to support audit readiness and management reporting.
Responsibilities as the Senior Valuation Associate (Private Credit):
- Quarterly Valuations: Perform quarterly valuations of portfolio companies and securities using internal models, incorporating financial performance, market data, and credit fundamentals.
- Portfolio Monitoring & Analytics: Monitor portfolio company performance through financial statement spreading, covenant analysis, and credit metric tracking.
- Management Reporting: Present valuation conclusions, performance drivers, and credit trends to senior management through clear, data-driven reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with deal teams, finance and operations, and external valuation consultants to align assumptions and valuation inputs.
- Audit, Validation & Controls: Support valuation audits and validate conclusions through back testing, sensitivity analysis, and stress testing while maintaining strong internal controls.
Qualifications for the Senior Valuation Associate (Private Credit):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required (CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in valuation, private credit, direct lending, investment banking, or public accounting, with exposure to DCF and market comparable analyses.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial statements, capital structures, and credit-focused financial modeling, with experience in private credit, valuation advisory, or Big Four environments preferred.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with valuation and portfolio systems such as Geneva, 73 Strings, and or Capital IQ strongly preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to analyze complex information and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
