Atlantic Group is partnering with our client to hire a Senior Valuation Associate (Business Intelligence) in Stamford, CT (Hybrid) to lead valuations of global private equity and credit investments. In this high-impact role, you’ll build financial models, present results to senior leadership, and collaborate with investment teams to drive portfolio insights. Ideal for professionals with expertise in valuation methodologies, financial modeling, and regulatory frameworks like ASC 820 and IFRS.

Responsibilities as the Senior Valuation Associate:

  • Valuation Execution: Perform quarterly and ad hoc valuations for private equity and credit investments in accordance with ASC 820, IFRS, and US GAAP.
  • Financial Modeling: Build and maintain valuation models, including DCF, market comparables, PWERM, and OPM, to support investment analysis.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Present valuation results to senior leadership, auditors, and third-party advisors.
  • Market Analysis: Assess financials, industry trends, and market data to evaluate investment performance.
  • Risk & Sensitivity Testing: Conduct stress tests and scenario analysis to evaluate valuation risk.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with investment teams and lead third-party valuation advisor coordination.

Qualifications for the Senior Valuation Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required (MBA, CFA, or CPA strongly preferred).
  • Experience: 5-7 years of valuation experience within private equity, investment banking, credit analysis, or a valuation advisory environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced financial modeling skills with strong Excel proficiency, and preferred experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, VBA, and Python.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of illiquid investments such as private debt, leveraged loans, and equity, along with expertise in ASC 820, IFRS 13, and valuation best practices.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to lead and manage global stakeholders and high-impact valuation deliverables.
