Job Overview – Senior Tax Associate (Private Equity):
Be part of a dynamic private equity team as a Senior Tax Associate with our client in Boston, MA, contributing to tax planning, K-1 reporting, and financial operations. This hybrid role involves working closely with senior leadership and external tax advisors, managing tax estimates, handling complex allocations, and improving tax reporting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Compensation: $95,000 – $115,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Associate:
- Tax Planning & Reporting: Oversee the tax estimate and K-1 processes for management companies, ensuring accurate quarterly taxable income reporting for operational and investment vehicles.
- Complex Tax Allocations: Prepare and review complex taxable income allocations, analyzing corporate and book numbers for necessary tax adjustments.
- Liaison & Compliance Coordination: Act as a key liaison between internal tax teams, senior management, and external tax advisors, compiling support and responding to inquiries.
- Process Improvement: Enhance tax reporting processes by implementing best-in-class tax procedures, leveraging technology to improve efficiency.
- Strategic Insights: Collaborate with the finance team to optimize tax reporting strategies, offering value-added insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications for the Senior Tax Associate:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (advanced degree or certification is a plus).
- Experience: 3-5 years in a corporate or tax role, preferably within private equity or financial services, with strong expertise in corporate and partnership tax.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is required, with experience in Oracle NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of IRS guidelines and tax compliance requirements.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and self-motivated, with strong multitasking, communication, and collaboration skills, excelling in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
