Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Tax Associate (Corporate Compliance) in New York, NY for our client, supporting corporate tax compliance, ASC 740 provision work, and federal and state income tax reporting within a public accounting or professional services environment. In this in-office role, you will prepare and review corporate tax returns, assist with tax provisions, support audits, and leverage advanced Excel to analyze financial data and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Associate (Corporate Compliance):

  • Corporate Tax Compliance: Prepare and review federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns, extensions, and related filings.
  • ASC 740 Provision Support: Assist with preparation of current and deferred tax provisions, including effective tax rate analysis and supporting documentation.
  • Tax Research & Technical Analysis: Research complex tax issues and provide technical guidance to engagement teams and clients.
  • Client Communication & Audit Support: Respond to tax notices and support IRS and state audit inquiries in coordination with management.
  • Process Improvement & Team Collaboration: Support workflow improvements and mentor junior staff to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.

Qualifications for the Senior Tax Associate (Corporate Compliance):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA preferred or actively pursuing certification).
  • Experience: 3-5 years of corporate tax compliance experience within public accounting, including at least one busy season as a Senior Associate.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate income tax compliance, ASC 740 tax provisions, federal and state tax regulations, and multi-state filings.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, with experience using tax compliance software such as CCH, OneSource, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Analytical and detail-oriented tax professional with strong communication skills, client-facing experience, and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a deadline-driven environment.
