Compensation: $160,000 – $175,000/year + bonus

Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Manager, Tax Compliance in Philadelphia, PA for our client. This hybrid role leads tax compliance and reporting for regulated investment companies (RICs), ensuring adherence to Subchapter M, ASC 740, and evolving tax regulations. You will oversee third-party tax providers, support investor reporting, and partner cross-functionally to maintain strong controls and scalable tax processes. Ideal for a senior investment tax professional with deep RIC experience and a strategic, process-driven mindset.
Responsibilities as the Senior Manager, Tax Compliance:
- Tax Compliance Oversight: Lead federal, state, and local tax compliance for investment funds, including excise tax calculations and investor tax reporting.
- Subchapter M & RIC Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with Subchapter M requirements across investment fund structures.
- Tax Provisions & Controls: Oversee interim and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740 while maintaining strong internal controls and risk management.
- Cross-Functional Management: Manage external tax providers and partner with investment, accounting, legal, and operations teams to implement consistent tax policies.
- Improvement & Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor tax law changes and drive process improvements through technology and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications for the Senior Manager, Tax Compliance:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, with a Master of Taxation preferred.
- Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of investment tax experience with regulated investment companies, investment funds, and corporate structures, with public accounting experience preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong expertise in Subchapter M and RIC taxation, including review of Forms 1120-RIC, 1120, and 1065, with hands-on experience in ASC 740 income tax provisions.
- Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented leader with excellent project management skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
