Job Overview – Senior Manager (Corporate Accounting)
Compensation: $150,000 – $170,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Manager (Corporate Accounting) in Boston, MA for our client, leading the corporate accounting function across close, financial reporting, and internal controls. In this hybrid role, you will oversee GAAP-compliant reporting, manage and develop the accounting team, and partner closely with senior leadership. You will leverage tools such as Excel, MRI, AvidXchange, and Chrome River to strengthen controls, improve reporting accuracy, and scale accounting operations.
Responsibilities as the Senior Manager (Corporate Accounting):
- Close & General Ledger Oversight: Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including general ledger maintenance, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting & GAAP Compliance: Manage corporate financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Internal Controls & Policy Governance: Strengthen and enforce internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Internal Reporting & Analysis: Deliver timely internal reporting packages, variance analysis, and executive-level financial insights.
- Leadership & Improvement: Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while driving process improvements, system optimization, and scalable best practices.
Qualifications for the Senior Manager (Corporate Accounting):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in an accounting management role.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong command of U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency required, including complex formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis, with experience using MRI, AvidXchange, and Chrome River preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Proven leader with excellent communication skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, drive process improvements, and collaborate effectively across departments.
