Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant (Private Funds):
Compensation: $135,000 – $165,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Fund Accountant (Private Funds) in New York, NY for our client, supporting NAVs, capital activity, valuations, and investor reporting for private credit and PE-style funds. This hybrid role manages quarterly closes, reviews administrator deliverables, analyzes credit exposures, and prepares U.S. GAAP financials. Ideal candidates have private fund accounting experience with ABF, ABS, CLOs, private debt, or hybrid credit strategies.
Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant (Private Funds):
- NAV & Fund Accounting: Prepare and review monthly and quarterly NAVs, including accruals, income recognition, unrealized gains and losses, and expense allocations.
- Valuations & Capital Activity: Support valuation processes for private credit and illiquid assets and manage capital calls, distributions, investor allocations, management fees, and carried interest calculations.
- Financial Reporting & Audit Support: Prepare U.S. GAAP financial statements, produce investor reporting packages, review administrator workpapers, and support annual audits.
- Portfolio Analytics & Oversight: Analyze fund performance and credit metrics while overseeing administrator deliverables such as NAVs, reconciliations, and capital activity statements.
- Collaboration & Improvement: Partner with operations, IR, compliance, and portfolio teams on reporting needs and contribute to workflow improvements and automation initiatives.
Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant (Private Funds):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 4-8 years of fund accounting experience across private credit, private equity vehicles, hedge funds, or fund administration, with strong NAV and close experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel with experience reviewing NAV files, waterfall models, and ledger systems, with familiarity in Investran, Geneva, or similar platforms preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of private funds and credit products such as ABF, ABS, CLOs, and private debt, with knowledge of GAAP, reporting, allocations, and capital activity.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical professional with strong communication skills, the ability to manage deadlines, and a proactive approach to improving processes.
