Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant (Hybrid):
Join our client as a Senior Fund Accountant in New York, NY, managing daily finance and operations for investment funds. In this hybrid role, you'll oversee cash management, investments, capital activities, and collaborate with fund administrators for accurate limited partner reporting.
Compensation: $140,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant:
- Fund Management: Oversee daily cash, finance, and accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts payable.
- Investments: Ensure timely execution and recording of investment activities.
- Fund Close: Support the quarterly and annual fund accounting closing processes.
- Accruals & Fees: Prepare and calculate quarterly expense accruals and management fees.
- Treasury: Assist with fund treasury functions for capital calls, distributions, and expense payments.
- Reporting: Prepare management reports and analyses to assist with fund performance metrics.
Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field (CPA is a plus).
- Experience: 5-10 years in Fund Accounting within Private Equity or Credit, with asset managers, Big 4, or fund administrators preferred.
- Skills: Advanced Excel skills, proficiency in MS Office, strong analytical and communication abilities, and superior organizational skills.
- Attributes: Ability to multitask, attention to detail, and an ownership mindset with pride in work product.
