Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant:
We are looking for a Senior Fund Accountant or Assistant Controller to join our client's team. This role is pivotal, offering significant growth opportunities as the number two accountant under the CFO.

Location: New York City, NY. Hybrid

Compensation: $125,000 – $160,000 + bonus

Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant:

Traditional Middle Market PE Fund Accounting.
Prepare and review financial statements and reports for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other regulations.
Reconcile investment accounts, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and resolution of discrepancies.
Assist with regulatory reporting requirements and support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Work closely with other departments to ensure that financial information is accurate and disseminated in a timely manner.

Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant:

Experience: 5-8 years of professional experience in public accounting with PE clients, or a combination of public/private, fund administration, or direct private equity experience.
Skills: Must have an ownership mentality, be team-oriented, capable of multitasking, and managing outsourced resources effectively.
Technical Proficiency: Highly skilled in private equity fund accounting practices.
Attitude: Problem solver with a no-task-too-small mentality, low ego, and a hard-working approach.
Certification: CPA is preferred.
