Job Overview – Senior Fund Accountant:
Step into a key role with our real estate client in Boston, MA, as a Senior Fund Accountant, managing financial processes for multifamily open-end funds. This hybrid position involves working closely with fund administrators, internal teams, and auditors to ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and fund accounting.
Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Fund Accountant:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reports with the fund administrator, resolving reconciling items and ensuring US GAAP compliance.
- Capital Transactions: Review and validate capital calls, distributions, contributions, and investor statements provided by third-party fund administrators.
- Compliance: Assist in preparing compliance reports, regulatory filings, and ad-hoc financial data requests.
- Transaction Accounting: Manage entries for acquisitions, dispositions, and loan transactions, including purchase price allocations.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct monthly variance analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Cash Management: Oversee fund-level cash management processes, prepare wire requests, and ensure timely tax filings and property tax payments.
Qualifications for the Senior Fund Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 1-3 years in Fund Accounting required, preferably in real estate or multifamily open-end funds.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Yardi and advanced Excel, with a solid understanding of GAAP and fund-level financial reporting.
- Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong multitasking, communication, and analytical skills.
