Job Overview – Senior Financial Reporting Associate (BDC)
Compensation: $110,000 – $125,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Financial Reporting Associate (BDC) in New York, NY for our client. In this hybrid role, you will support SEC reporting and financial oversight for a publicly registered investment vehicle, including 10-Q and 10-K filings, NAV review, dividend reporting, and board materials. You will partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate reporting, effective internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities as the Senior Financial Reporting Associate:
- SEC & Financial Reporting: Prepare and support 10-Q and 10-K filings, quarterly and annual financial statements, and related disclosures for the BDC.
- NAV & Administrator Oversight: Review and reconcile third-party administrator NAV packages, investigate variances, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Performance & Dividend Reporting: Produce weekly performance reporting including returns, positioning, attribution analysis, and dividend estimates.
- Board, Investor & Audit Support: Prepare materials for the BDC Board and investor communications while coordinating with auditors and service providers to support audits, controls, and compliance.
- Capital Reporting: Partner with Portfolio Management, Operations, and deal teams to support capital and joint venture reporting, interpret governing documents, and resolve complex reporting issues.
Qualifications for the Senior Financial Reporting Associate:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA strongly preferred).
- Experience: 2-4 years of public accounting experience within financial services with direct SEC reporting, 10-Q/10-K exposure, and BDC experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of BDC structures, investment vehicles, and asset classes including bank loans, equities, and structured products.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency with the ability to build efficient templates and perform complex analyses from the ground up.
- Skills & Attributes: Analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong ownership, the ability to manage tight deadlines, interpret complex legal documents, and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.
