Job Overview – Senior Financial Analyst:
Join our client’s team in New York City, as a Senior Financial Analyst. In this role, you will deliver economic insights and decision-making support to senior leadership, driving the firm’s financial performance. This position involves developing and improving analytical frameworks to facilitate more informed decisions, particularly within the financial services industry.
Location: New York, NY
Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000/year + bonus
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Financial Analyst:
- Financial Analysis: Develop financial analysis to support decision-making and assess business performance.
- Model Development: Partner with businesses to create financial models and analyses for strategic initiatives, including product expansion economics.
- Innovation: Participate in team-wide projects, developing new ways to analyze the business.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, Risk, Corporate Strategy, and HR on firm-wide initiatives.
- Dashboard Preparation: Prepare monthly dashboards for senior management and stakeholders, reflecting results and performance.
- Trend Analysis: Analyze current and past trends in revenue, expenses, and key performance indicators to improve financial forecasts.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Play an active role in the annual budget and forecasting processes, incorporating initiatives from leadership.
Qualifications for the Senior Financial Analyst:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 5-9 years of FP&A experience, strong modeling skills, and management reporting (large hedge fund experience is highly preferred).
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (Macros and VBA are a plus), with advanced quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Ability to effectively communicate ideas both in written presentations and to small groups, and interact with senior management and peers.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, strong ownership of work, good team player, and willingness to help others.
