Job Overview – Senior Accounting Manager
Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000/year + bonus
Location: Middlesex County, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accounting Manager in Middlesex County, MA for our client, supporting technical accounting, SEC reporting, financial controls, and global accounting operations. This leadership role will oversee complex accounting and reporting activities while supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses and strengthening scalable financial processes. The position requires flexibility for domestic and international travel based on business and acquisition activity.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accounting Manager:
- Corporate Accounting: Oversee complex accounting activities and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Financial Reporting: Manage financial reporting activities, disclosures, and other recurring reporting requirements.
- Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong internal controls and support compliance with applicable accounting and reporting requirements.
- Audit Management: Coordinate external audit activities, prepare supporting documentation, and address accounting and reporting requests.
- Accounting Operations: Partner with finance and cross-functional teams to strengthen accounting processes, systems, and reporting practices.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop accounting professionals while driving process improvements and operational efficiency.
Qualifications for the Senior Accounting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- Certification: CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience, is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and public company accounting requirements is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems skills are required. Experience with ERP systems is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and project management skills with the ability to manage complex accounting priorities, develop team members, and collaborate effectively across functions.
