Job Overview – Senior Accountant
Compensation: $120,000 – $130,000/year + bonus
Location: New Castle County, DE
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant in New Castle County, DE for our client, supporting SEC reporting, external financial reporting, technical accounting, and disclosure controls within a publicly traded environment. This role will support SEC filings, US GAAP reporting, financial disclosures, and complex accounting matters while partnering with senior leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public accounting or corporate SEC reporting.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- SEC Reporting: Manage reporting timelines and prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and related financial disclosures.
- Technical Accounting: Research US GAAP, SEC guidance, and new accounting standards and provide support for acquisitions, divestitures, and other complex transactions.
- External Disclosures: Support earnings materials and other external financial communications to maintain consistency and accuracy across public disclosures.
- Accounting Policies: Develop and maintain accounting policies and assist with the implementation of new financial reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Controls & Audit: Maintain external reporting and disclosure controls, support SOX compliance, and coordinate reporting requirements with internal and external auditors.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: Active CPA required.
- Experience: 4+ years of public accounting or corporate SEC reporting experience is required, including experience preparing or reviewing Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, external financial reporting, technical accounting, disclosure controls, and SOX compliance is required.
- Technical Skills: Experience with financial reporting and accounting systems is required, and proficiency with Workiva, SAP, BPC, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and collaborate effectively with senior leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
