Job Overview – Senior Accountant (Management Company):
Our private equity client in Stamford, CT, seeks a Senior Accountant to support management company accounting and financial reporting. This hybrid role involves working closely with the Controller on daily accounting, key financial processes, and accurate reporting, requiring discretion, adaptability, and attention to detail.
Compensation: $100,000 – $125,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant (Management Company):
- Financial Analysis: Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and accuracy in reporting.
- Ledger Management: Oversee daily accounting operations, including maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Accounts Payable: Supervise the Accounts Payable function, reviewing and approving payments, and ensuring accurate recording of transactions.
- Budget Management: Support budgeting and expense tracking, providing insights to optimize financial operations and manage costs effectively.
- Close Process: Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, preparing necessary journal entries and financial reports.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant (Management Company):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 3-6 years in Public Accounting or a blend of public and private roles required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel and accounting software, skilled in using financial systems to enhance efficiency.
- Skills: Discrete, detail-oriented, adaptable, with strong organization and communication in a team-focused setting.
