Job Overview – Senior Accountant (Hybrid):
Compensation: $85,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: Allentown, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant (Hybrid) on behalf of our client in Allentown, PA. In this role, you will lead financial reporting, manage the general ledger, and support budgeting and forecasting. You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, analyze variances, and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX standards. The role also offers opportunities to assist with ERP implementations, collaborate with senior leadership on financial performance, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, post journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of all financial data.
- Variance Analysis: Analyze budget-to-actual variances and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial reports that support corporate objectives.
- Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with internal and external auditors while ensuring SOX compliance and adherence to internal controls.
- Process Improvement: Drive ERP/BI system implementations and recommend workflow enhancements to improve efficiency.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with preferred background in manufacturing or distribution.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced formulas) and ERP systems required, with ERP/BI implementation experience strongly preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and analytical with strong problem-solving skills, effective cross-team communication, and proven success in process improvements and team development.
