Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant (Hybrid) in Chester County, PA for our client. In this hybrid role, you will support accounting and financial reporting for non-integrated acquisitions with a focus on purchase accounting, month-end close, and SOX controls. You will partner with internal teams and external auditors to support transaction execution and post-close reporting. This opportunity is ideal for an accountant with public audit experience seeking hands-on M&A exposure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:

  • Acquisition Accounting & Close: Perform monthly close activities for non-integrated acquisitions, including bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant reporting.
  • Purchase Accounting & Valuations: Support purchase accounting, opening balance sheets, post-closing completion statements, and third-party valuations of goodwill and intangible assets.
  • Transaction & Due Diligence Support: Assist with financial due diligence, net working capital calculations, funds flow reviews, and purchase agreement analysis.
  • SOX & Audit Support: Execute acquisition-related SOX procedures, maintain documentation, support 10-Q footnotes, and assist with annual external audits.
  • Collaboration: Partner with acquired company accountants to support post-closing accounting, G/L reconciliations, and ongoing reporting accuracy.

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of public accounting or audit experience required, with exposure to M&A, transaction accounting, or technology-focused clients preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, purchase accounting, goodwill and intangible asset accounting, and internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills required (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP), with experience using QuickBooks or Workday ERP preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong documentation skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines under pressure, and collaborate effectively across teams.
