Job Overview – Senior Accountant (Hybrid):
Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000/year + bonus
Location: South Jersey area
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Advance your career as a Senior Accountant with our client in the South Jersey area (Hybrid). In this role, you will manage month-end close, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and audit support while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. You will collaborate with leadership to enhance internal controls, implement best practices, and drive process improvements. This opportunity is ideal for accountants with public accounting experience, construction or project-based accounting exposure, and advanced proficiency in SAP and Excel.

Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:

  • Month-End Close: Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and perform account analysis to deliver timely and accurate financial results.
  • Data Validation & Intercompany: Validate data across systems and review intercompany transactions for proper eliminations.
  • Variance Resolution: Research discrepancies, resolve variances, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
  • Compliance & Controls: Maintain process documentation, develop internal controls, and ensure adherence to GAAP and SOX standards.
  • Audit & Reporting Support: Assist with audit requests, prepare supporting documentation, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Process & Collaboration: Partner with operations and finance leadership to streamline processes, deploy best practices, and support business initiatives.

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA strongly preferred).
  • Experience: 5+ years of public accounting experience required, with preferred background in construction or project accounting and percentage-of-completion methods.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, with experience in SAP, Comsense, QuickBase, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems preferred, including SAP implementation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with strong communication, process improvement, and documentation skills, along with a collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset.
