Job Overview – Senior Accountant (Consolidations & Eliminations):
Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant (Consolidations & Eliminations) in New York, NY, to lead inter-company accounting and multi-entity consolidations within a complex corporate structure. This in-office role requires strong technical accounting skills, experience with ERP systems, and expertise in eliminations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
- Consolidation Management: Lead accounting for multiple entities, focusing on monthly close and inter-company eliminations across holding and consolidation structures.
- Journal Entries: Prepare financial bookings and elimination entries to ensure accurate consolidation and reporting.
- Inter-Company Transactions: Track and eliminate inter-company sales, cash transfers, and working capital activity while supporting finance team coordination.
- Entity Integration: Support the onboarding of new entities by aligning accounting systems, charts of accounts, and inter-company frameworks.
- Equity & Cash Flow Accounting: Record cash movements, equity contributions, and inter-company liabilities with appropriate classifications.
- Allocations & Audit Support: Calculate shared service allocations, manage interest calculations, and assist in audit preparation and financial reporting.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Experience: 8+ years in accounting with expertise in consolidations, inter-company eliminations, technical accounting, and financial reporting across complex entity structures.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in enterprise ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP, with advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience in multi-entity consolidations and journal entry creation.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and analytical with excellent problem-solving skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage competing deadlines across multiple entities.
