Compensation: $175,000 – $210,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Revenue Controller for our client in Boston, MA (Hybrid). In this strategic role, you will oversee revenue recognition processes, ensure compliance with ASC 606, and drive operational efficiency through process optimization and automation. Leverage your expertise in SAP project accounting and revenue recognition to manage financial reporting, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support external audits, all while enhancing accuracy and driving business performance.

Responsibilities as the Revenue Controller:

  • Revenue Compliance: Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP revenue recognition standards (ASC 606) and accurate accounting for revenue contracts.
  • Technical Research: Oversee revenue recognition research and support the preparation of accounting memos for complex topics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with accounting, billing, and project teams to ensure accurate revenue data in SAP Project Systems.
  • Financial Close Management: Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, including revenue recognition.
  • Revenue Reporting: Manage Unbilled Receivable and Deferred Revenue reporting for customer projects.
  • Training & Guidance: Provide guidance and training on revenue recognition to Sales, Legal, and Operations teams.

Qualifications for the Revenue Controller:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in revenue accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably with experience at a Big 4 Accounting Firm.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition, including overtime accounting and percentage of completion models, with proficiency in SAP project accounting modules and MS Office.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with excellent time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or in a team to solve complex problems.
