Job Overview – Revenue Accounting Manager
Compensation: $125,000 – $145,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Revenue Accounting Manager in Boston, MA for our client, supporting revenue recognition, financial reporting, and receivables management within a financial services or investment management environment. In this role, you will lead revenue accounting processes, oversee close activities, and partner with finance teams to ensure accurate reporting and forecasting. You will leverage systems such as Workday Financials, Excel, and reporting tools to improve visibility, strengthen controls, and enhance processes.
Responsibilities as the Revenue Accounting Manager:
- Revenue Recognition & Reporting: Oversee revenue recognition and ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards.
- Financial Close: Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for revenue and related accounts.
- Receivables & Cash Management: Manage receivables, collections, and cash application while improving visibility and accuracy.
- Process Improvement & Controls: Enhance accounting processes, reporting workflows, and internal controls to support efficiency and compliance.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead and develop team members while partnering with cross-functional teams to support financial operations.
Qualifications for the Revenue Accounting Manager:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, and a CPA or Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: 6–8 years of accounting experience required, with financial services or partnership accounting experience preferred, including team leadership.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of revenue recognition, partnership accounting, and financial reporting within investment or financial services environments is required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel is required, and experience with Workday Financials, Anaplan, Tableau, or similar financial systems is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical thinking, project management ability, and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership and manage multiple priorities.
