Compensation: $200,000 – $225,000/year + bonus

Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Registered Fund Controller (Private Equity & Public Reporting) in New York, NY with our client. In this hybrid role, you will oversee fund accounting, U.S. GAAP financials, SEC filings, and Exchange Act reporting while managing audits, controls, distributor relationships, and investor activity across U.S. and Luxembourg structures. Experience with registered funds including BDCs, interval funds, or other 1940 Act vehicles and coordination with third-party administrators is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities as the Registered Fund Controller:

  • Regulatory & Financial Reporting Leadership: Serve as CFO/Controller and Principal Accounting Officer for Exchange Act reporting, overseeing all U.S. GAAP financial statements, 10-K/10-Q filings, disclosures, and SEC compliance.
  • Fund Accounting Oversight: Manage full-cycle fund accounting including NAV reviews, capital activity, allocations, investor reporting, and review of administrator-prepared work.
  • Audit & Internal Controls: Lead annual audits, strengthen internal controls, maintain accounting policies, and oversee U.S. and Luxembourg entity compliance.
  • Administrator & Distributor Management: Coordinate closely with fund administrators (e.g., BNY Mellon), manage distributor onboarding and due diligence, and oversee distribution agreements, commissions, and regulatory workflows.
  • Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership: Build scalable operational processes for new fund/distribution structures and partner with Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Investor Relations to support fund growth and public-company readiness.

Qualifications for the Registered Fund Controller:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Licensure: CPA required.
  • Experience: 10-15 years in registered fund accounting within BDCs, interval funds, or other 1940 Act structures, with direct 10-K/10-Q experience and prior private fund exposure.
  • Technical Skills: Strong command of U.S. GAAP, SEC/public company reporting, internal controls, fund accounting systems, and complex fund structures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with fund administrators, distributors, and global service providers, with familiarity in Luxembourg fund structures preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Highly analytical, detail-oriented leader with excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, build-mode environment.
