Job Overview – Real Estate Portfolio Accountant
Compensation: $100,000 – $110,000/year + bonus
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is partnering with our client to hire a Real Estate Portfolio Accountant in Boston, MA, supporting financial reporting and accounting for commercial real estate assets. In this role, you will review property-level financials, support audit processes, assist with fund-level accounting operations, and collaborate closely with asset management teams. This opportunity is ideal for real estate accounting professionals with strong Excel skills and experience using Yardi.
Responsibilities as the Real Estate Portfolio Accountant:
- Property Financial Review: Monitor monthly financials, cash flow, and capital activity prepared by third-party property managers.
- Accounting & Compliance: Analyze NOI trends, receivables, and budget variances while ensuring adherence to internal accounting policies.
- Asset Management Support: Collaborate with asset managers to assess property performance and review lease, tax, and expense audits.
- Reporting & Close Processes: Support quarterly and annual close, including investor reports, debt covenants, and coordination with audit and tax teams.
- Fund Accounting: Manage reconciliations, wire and draw requests, fee calculations, and transaction entries for real estate investments.
Qualifications for the Real Estate Portfolio Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting and/or real estate portfolio management.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with strong preference for experience using Yardi or other real estate platforms.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented with strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to adapt and learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
