Job Overview – Real Estate Investment Associate (Hybrid):
Join our client as a Real Estate Investment Associate in New York, NY, where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing debt and equity investments across internal platforms. This hybrid position involves financial reporting, strategic analysis, and ESG performance evaluation, with opportunities to contribute to investor relations and portfolio performance monitoring in a dynamic real estate investment environment.

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Real Estate Investment Associate:

  • Investment Onboarding: Integrate new debt and equity investments into internal systems, including financial reporting, ESG platforms, and loan servicing tools.
  • Financial Reporting: Collect and review monthly financial performance data, aggregate reports, and maintain data on reporting platforms.
  • Strategic Analysis: Conduct risk mitigation evaluations, compare performance against budgets and business plans, and analyze market and asset class trends.
  • ESG Evaluation: Monitor building performance and review social and governance practices for portfolio companies, operating partners, and property managers.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Oversee borrower and collateral performance for debt investments, ensuring compliance with covenants and other obligations.
  • Investor Reporting: Prepare and deliver recurring and ad hoc investor reporting, including presentations and portfolio analysis dashboards.

Qualifications for the Real Estate Investment Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Experience: 2-4 years in Investment Reporting, preferably with private real estate firms, credit firms, or funds.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with iLevel or similar data management/reporting tools is a strong plus.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial statements, credit agreements, and mortgage agreements.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with real estate concepts is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and maturity to handle complex tasks and interactions professionally.
