Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Project Accountant in Boston, MA for our client’s construction team. This hybrid role manages job cost tracking, billing, and reporting across multiple projects while supporting budgets, cash flow, and contract compliance. Experience with Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, or CMiC preferred. Ideal for an accounting professional seeking growth in a dynamic, project-driven environment.

Responsibilities as the Project Accountant (Construction):

  • Job Cost Management: Maintain detailed job cost records, including budgets, change orders, and WIP schedules, ensuring project accuracy and control.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and project reports for leadership.
  • Billing & Receivables: Manage AIA billing, payment applications, and retention tracking to ensure timely and accurate cash flow.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with project managers to analyze costs, forecast budgets, and prepare cash flow projections.
  • Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure contract and documentation compliance while supporting audits and driving accounting process enhancements.

Qualifications for the Project Accountant (Construction):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of accounting experience within the construction industry or project-based accounting environment.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, QuickBooks, CMiC, or similar construction accounting software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, job cost accounting, project billing, and WIP management.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong organizational and communication skills, excelling in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
