This role is ideal for an investment professional with expertise in asset allocation, portfolio modeling, performance analysis, and cross-asset research. Collaborate with the Executive Team to drive investment strategy, risk assessment, and portfolio optimization through rigorous financial modeling and data-driven insights.

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Responsibilities as the Portfolio Strategy and Investment Operations Associate:

  • Portfolio Analysis & Modeling: Maintain proprietary models for asset allocation, liquidity forecasting, portfolio exposures, and performance tracking.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with investment teams to ensure data integrity and develop tools for accurate forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare in-depth materials for monthly client meetings, Investment Committee reviews, and board presentations, translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Risk & Compliance Monitoring: Support compliance efforts, tracking asset allocation, liquidity, counterparty risk, and investment restrictions.
  • Portfolio Execution & Operations: Act as a bridge between finance and investment teams, ensuring seamless implementation of investment decisions.
  • Market & Peer Research: Conduct ad hoc research on market trends, peer benchmarking, and investment strategy comparisons to inform executive decision-making.

Qualifications for the Portfolio Strategy and Investment Operations Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field required.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in investment research, portfolio analytics, asset management, or strategy, with a strong preference for asset allocation expertise.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint (coding experience in Python or R highly preferred).
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of portfolio strategies, risk assessments, portfolio optimization, and performance attribution.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, strategic insights.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Confidence to engage with senior leadership, collaborate across teams, and proactively contribute to high-level discussions.
