Job Overview – Plant Controller (Manufacturing):
Become a key financial leader with our client as a Plant Controller in Montgomery County, PA. This role focuses on managing the financial strategy for a manufacturing site, ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial controls, and streamlined cost management. Working closely with plant and operational leadership, you'll develop and implement initiatives to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000/year + bonus
Location: Montgomery County, PA
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Responsibilities as the Plant Controller:
- Financial Oversight: Monitor plant operations against financial plans and prepare monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Cost Accounting: Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, labor costs, and overhead tracking, ensuring accurate financial representation.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Analyze and report monthly actual results versus the budget, supporting the site in achieving annual financial metrics.
- Operational Partnership: Collaborate with plant management to resolve production and costing issues, offering recommendations for performance improvement.
- Audit Coordination: Support external financial audits and address findings in collaboration with operational leadership.
- Fixed Assets Management: Maintain fixed asset records in line with company policy and GAAP requirements.
Qualifications for the Plant Controller:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (CPA preferred).
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience in Accounting, with a strong background in the manufacturing industry and private accounting sector.
- Industry Skills: Expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, bills of materials, and P&L analysis.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel proficiency (data analysis, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and familiarity with ERP systems (implementation experience a plus).
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with expertise in data mining and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attributes: Conscientious, accountable, and results-driven, with a solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting technicalities.
