Payroll Manager

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Supervise weekly payroll process for over 12,000 employees in 38 states and Puerto Rico, and guarantee prompt delivery
  • Personnel Change Forms processing and Upload to the payroll system
  • Handling of new/re-hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, and terminations
  • Processing of monthly car allowance payments
  • Coordinate with IT and HR to uphold system integrations
  • Develop controls and processes to ensure compliance with federal/state/local laws
  • Keep abreast with Union Contracts, administer enrollment and eligibility
  • Union Enrollment Setup and Monthly Invoice request for Union Pac and Union 401K
  • Prepare all manual checks and final Payouts
  • Direct Deposit & Pay card Processing
  • Year-end payroll process and production of tax forms W-2s
  • Process state and city minimum wage increases
  • Provide quality support to store personnel and resolve all issues in a timely manner
  • Prepare reports and analysis for management as requested
  • Document procedures and recommend changes
  • Maintenance and upgrade of the (Lawson) payroll system

 

 

Requirements

 

  • No less than three years of experience working in a payroll division (retail industry is highly desired)
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or correlated field
  • Lawson payroll system experience is essential
  • BSI Tax Factory and Microsoft Excel. AS/400 experience is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws
