Job Overview – Operations Financial Analyst:
We are seeking a Operations Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team. As a Operations Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and managing our diverse investment portfolios, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This flexible position can be based in either New York, NY, or Stamford, CT.
Location: New York, NY or Stamford, CT
Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000/year
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Responsibilities of the Operations Financial Analyst:
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Support monthly/quarterly portfolio financial planning and analysis requirements.
- Variance Analysis: Perform variance analyses across budgets, actuals, and forecasts, linking financials to key operational KPIs.
- Liaison with Teams: Liaise with operations team and portfolio company financial analysts regarding data inputs and understanding.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow with associated quantitative metrics.
- Database Management: Manage and consolidate critical portfolio financials and operations KPIs.
- Technology Leverage: Utilize technology (Chronograph Portfolio Management and Workiva – Wdesk) to improve data, reporting, and analytical processes and outputs.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications for the Operations Financial Analyst:
- Experience: 5 years of FP&A, KPIs, business unit reporting, and strong data analysis. Preference for candidates from Fortune 300 companies (Pepsico, GE, Black & Decker, United Technologies, IBM, etc.). Ideal candidate has 2 years of accounting experience combined with 3+ years of FP&A experience.
- Technical Skills: Comfortable with database usage, management, and administration. Experience with financial reporting systems such as SAP, Hyperion, or other similar systems.
- Skills: Strong analytical and data management skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
