Job Overview – Operations Associate (Credit):
Compensation: $130,000 – $160,000/year + bonus

Become an integral part of our client’s team as an Operations Associate (Credit) in New York, NY, managing daily trade operations, loan settlements, and portfolio workflows for a growing institutional credit fund. This in-office role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with buy-side operations or middle office experience and a strong understanding of credit products like bank debt, corporate bonds, and derivatives. You’ll collaborate with investment and finance teams to support trade execution, reconciliations, and NAV reporting.
Responsibilities as the Operations Associate:
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily trade processing, loan closings, and portfolio activity across credit instruments.
- Trade & Loan Execution: Capture trades, oversee settlements, and coordinate credit agreement amendments with fund administrators.
- Data Integrity: Maintain security master files and ensure accurate reference data for portfolio assets.
- Valuation & Monitoring: Track accruals, interest payments, and perform monthly pricing and quarterly NAV support.
- Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare reports, validate P&L, and oversee fund administrator reconciliations.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with finance, accounting, and tech teams to streamline workflows and enhance automation.
Qualifications for the Operations Associate:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field required.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in buy-side operations or middle office roles within private credit, hedge funds, or institutional asset managers.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills with experience in portfolio accounting systems and a strong grasp of automation tools and data reconciliation platforms to optimize operational workflows.
- Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to manage high volumes in a fast-paced environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of credit products (bank debt, corporate bonds, TRS, repos) and trade settlement practices across asset classes.
