Role Overview:
Our client, a leading physical commodity trading firm, is seeking a driven Operations Associate to join their team. This is an outstanding entry-level opportunity for a motivated candidate looking to launch their career in the trading world.
Compensation: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 + bonus
Location: New York City
Responsibilities for the Operations Associate include:
• Coordinating shipments and logistics with customers, suppliers, and service providers
• Preparing documentation for imports, exports, customs, invoicing, and insurance
• Processing pricing orders, handling claims, and arranging inspections
• Obtaining freight quotes and managing vendor services
• Reconciling inventories and maintaining position records
• Creating contracts and understanding P&L statements
• Updating internal systems and reports
Qualifications of the Operations Associate include:
• 1-2 years of experience in physical commodities, finance, or related field
• Strong academic background with a Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
• Growth mindset eager to learn trading operations
