Job Overview – Operations Associate
Compensation: $110,000–$160,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
Atlantic Group is hiring an Operations Associate in New York, NY for our client, supporting trade operations, settlements, reconciliations, fund accounting, and operational controls within an investment management environment. This role will work closely with trading and investment professionals while managing daily operational workflows, identifying risks, and improving processes through technology and automation. The ideal candidate has hedge fund operations experience with strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a process improvement mindset.
Responsibilities as the Operations Associate:
- Trade Operations: Support daily trade processing, settlement, and other post-trade operational activities.
- Reconciliations: Perform trade, position, and cash reconciliations while researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Investment Support: Partner with investment and trading teams to support daily operational requirements.
- Operational Controls: Maintain effective operational controls while identifying risks, exceptions, and opportunities for improvement.
- Fund Operations: Support fund operations, cash management, reporting, and related investment activities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows, systems, automation, and overall efficiency.
Qualifications for the Operations Associate:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 4+ years of investment operations, trade operations, fund operations, or related financial services experience is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of trade processing, settlements, reconciliations, operational controls, and investment operations is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills are required, with experience using automation or data analysis tools preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organization, and attention to detail skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are required.
