Job Overview – Operations Associate (CDS):
Compensation: $120,000 – $170,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Our client is hiring an Operations Associate (CDS) in New York, NY (Hybrid) to manage CDS trade operations, reconciliations, and confirmations across ICE Link, TradeServ, and related platforms. The ideal candidate has strong middle office experience, deep CDS knowledge, and has worked directly with traders and portfolio managers. This role offers full process ownership, P&L oversight, and the chance to improve operational workflows.

Responsibilities as the Operations Associate:

  • Trade Allocation & Confirmation: Allocate and confirm CDS trades using ICE Link, TradeServ, and related platforms.
  • Process Execution: Manage end-to-end workflows independently post-training, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations of trades, positions, and cash with custodians and counterparties.
  • Confirmation Processing: Handle long-form and electronic OTC trade confirmations across multiple platforms.
  • Data Accuracy: Maintain security master, trading calendars, and commission schedules with precision.
  • P&L & Process Improvement: Run daily P&L and support operational improvements to enhance workflow efficiency.

Qualifications for the Operations Associate:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 5-8 years in middle office, investment operations, or trade support roles, ideally with exposure to both fund and banking environments.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with TradeServ and ICELink is required, with working knowledge of VBA preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of credit default swaps (CDS) and related OTC derivatives.
  • Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in high-pressure environments, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with traders and portfolio managers.
