Job Overview – Middle Office Analyst:
Our client is seeking an experienced Middle Office Analyst to join their team in a hybrid role based in New York City. This position offers extensive exposure to the CFO, COO, traders, and occasionally the partners. As the Analyst, you will support projected growth in 2024 by ensuring seamless operations and accurate reporting.

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid)
Compensation: $100,000 – $140,000/year + bonus
Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities as the Middle Office Analyst:

  • Operational Enhancement and Project Work: Assist the COO & CFO in enhancing operational processes and lead projects such as spreadsheet development, process improvement, and trade flow automation.
  • Trade Booking and Reconciliation: Book 3rd party trade executions across various asset classes and reconcile trades against broker recap files, automating the process where possible.
  • Monitoring & Control: Monitor trading policies, position limits, and operational controls daily.
  • Trade Flow & Risk Management: Assist with end-to-end trade flow, risk management, and ad hoc trade-related issues.
  • Communication and Reporting: Liaise with Principals, PMs, and Strategists to communicate portfolio information and prepare nightly and weekly reports for the investment and operations teams.
  • Confirmations & Exercise Management: Monitor OTC confirmations, manage early exercise/assignments of options, and book assignments/exercise/expiries.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with internal groups on projects requiring operational input and support accounting, operations, and compliance teams with ad hoc projects.

Qualifications for the Middle Office Analyst:

  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience in a hedge fund, hedge fund administration, bank, or public accounting.
  • Education: CFA, MBA, or self-directed learning of new technologies/systems are preferred.
  • Skills: Demonstrated achievement, drive, and ambition. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
