We are looking for a hard-working, detail-oriented Insurance Follow-up Representative to support our team! The Medical Biller will be a lead member of the revenue cycle management team. This individual’s responsibilities will include timely process related to verifying eligibility, requesting prior authorization, analyzing claims for denials and short payments and ensuring accurate and timely follow up to ensure collections. They will be instrumental in creating and implementing the process for continual improvement accuracy & compliance within the division. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coding and submitting batch claims
- Balance billing and invoicing
- Verifying Insurance
- Submitting appeals
- Posting payments
- Analyzing denials
- Requesting prior authorization
- Reconciling payments to patient accounts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Be capable of sound and mature judgment.
- Possess excellent telephone skills and an ability to interact with clients and staff.
- Be computer literate and comfortable using electronic software.
- General cash posting procedures
- Understanding of KX, GY and GW modifiers
- Specific knowledge of Emdeon, Navinet, Avility and payer systems including IVR eligibility verification systems.
- General understanding of HIPAA, state & Federal laws.
- Exhibit good personal hygiene and grooming.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent with additional college preferred.
- Minimum 2-year prior Medical Billing, Authorization, cash posting or collection position, mailing paper claims, ect.
- Prior knowledge and experience in revenue cycle management if Home health care, HME or DME preferred.
- Previous use of electronic billing software, understanding of billing, balance collection & standard processes.
