Job Overview – Manufacturing Bookkeeper:
Compensation: $70,000 – $90,000/year + bonus
Location: Suffolk County, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Manufacturing Bookkeeper in Suffolk County, NY with our client. This hybrid role manages full-cycle bookkeeping, AR/AP, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and ERP data entry. You will oversee daily transactions, reconcile accounts, support month-end close, and maintain records across production, inventory, and order-to-cash workflows. Experience with QuickBooks Online, Fishbowl or similar ERP systems, and manufacturing accounting is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities as the Manufacturing Bookkeeper:
- Daily Accounting & Reporting: Record financial transactions, maintain general ledger entries, and prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and month-end support schedules.
- Reconciliations & Cash Flow: Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, petty cash, and vendor statements while supporting billing, collections, and cash flow accuracy.
- AR, AP & Order Processing: Manage invoicing, payments, collections, and entry of sales orders, work orders, and customer quotes.
- Inventory & ERP Management: Maintain inventory and production records and manage data within Fishbowl or similar ERP systems to support order-to-cash workflows.
- Operational & Compliance Support: Assist with payroll, expense tracking, export documentation, customer/vendor communication, internal controls, and coordination with external accounting partners.
Qualifications for the Manufacturing Bookkeeper:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of bookkeeping or staff-level accounting experience within a manufacturing environment required.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Excel, Word, and Outlook, with experience using ERP systems such as Fishbowl preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory management, and job costing, with ITAR or defense manufacturing experience preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
