Job Overview – Junior Trader (Metals):
Take on a pivotal role with our client as a Junior Trader in Stamford, CT. In this in-office position, you will support Traders and Senior Traders in managing trading books, analyzing opportunities, executing deals, and developing client relationships. This full-time role provides a path to independent profit contribution while deepening your expertise in metals markets and fostering global collaboration.

Compensation: $85,000 – $105,000/year + bonus
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Responsibilities as the Junior Trader (Metals):

  • Trade Analysis: Assist Traders in identifying and analyzing trading opportunities using advanced Excel and relevant tools.
  • Reporting: Create detailed reports and presentations to support informed decision-making for management.
  • Global Trade Management: Help manage purchases, sales, marketing, and risk, ensuring alignment with global trading strategies.
  • Client Relations: Foster strong relationships with clients and counterparts to position the company as a preferred partner.
  • Operational Support: Oversee trade execution, addressing delivery, shipping, quality, and payment issues with cross-team collaboration.
  • Risk and Compliance: Monitor physical and futures positions to ensure adherence to risk limits and client credit requirements.

Qualifications for the Junior Trader (Metals):

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in physical metals, commodities operations, logistics, or risk management.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time management abilities, with a proactive, detail-oriented, and ethical approach to problem-solving.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Industry Knowledge: Advanced understanding of global geography, shipment transportation logistics, and Incoterms.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
