Job Overview – Head of Operations (Investment Management)
Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000/year + bonus
Location: New York, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Head of Operations (Investment Management) in New York, NY for our client, a senior leadership role overseeing firmwide investment operations. In this hybrid role, you will partner with the Co-Head of Operations to oversee the trade lifecycle, risk controls, and operational infrastructure while driving process optimization, system enhancements, and cross-functional alignment.
Responsibilities as the Head of Operations (Investment Management):
- Operational Leadership & Management: Partner with the Co-Head of Operations to lead the operations function, manage and mentor the team, and serve as an escalation point for complex issues.
- Trade Lifecycle Oversight: Oversee end-to-end trade lifecycle operations, ensuring strong controls, risk mitigation, and timely resolution of breaks and discrepancies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Trading, Portfolio Management, Finance, Technology, Compliance, and external providers to support investment operations.
- Issue Resolution & Analysis: Diagnose and resolve reconciliation breaks, trade discrepancies, allocation issues, and other operational challenges.
- Strategic Projects & Scalability: Lead system implementations, process redesigns, automation, and scalability initiatives to support business growth.
Qualifications for the Head of Operations (Investment Management):
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required.
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in investment or fund operations, including senior leadership within complex investment environments.
- Product Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the trade lifecycle and operational support for products such as CDS, equity swaps, bonds, and OTC derivatives.
- Industry Expertise: Strong understanding of operational infrastructure, controls, reconciliations, and risk management, with experience leading major operational initiatives.
- Skills & Attributes: Highly effective leader with strong judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate hands-on in a fast-paced, high-intensity investment environment.
