Job Overview – Grant Accountant
Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000/year

Atlantic Group is hiring a Grant Accountant in New York, NY for our client, supporting financial operations, grant management, and budgeting across a nonprofit environment. This role focuses on managing government-funded programs, preparing grant invoices, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. The position requires strong communication skills, experience working with public funding sources, and the ability to collaborate with program teams.
Responsibilities as the Grant Accountant:
- Grant Management: Manage a portfolio of grants or program budgets, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- Budgeting: Support budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring spend against program budgets.
- Invoicing: Prepare and submit grant invoices while resolving discrepancies with funding agencies.
- Program Support: Partner with program teams to align financial activity with operational needs.
- Agency Coordination: Work with government agencies to address funding, reporting, and compliance matters.
- Reporting: Track financial activity and assist with internal and external reporting requirements.
Qualifications for the Grant Accountant:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in nonprofit accounting or social services is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working with government-funded programs and grant accounting is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally are required.
