Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Controller for our client, supporting fund finance, general partner accounting, and financial operations across a diversified private investment platform. This highly visible leadership role partners with investment, legal, finance, tax, and operations teams to oversee fund accounting, capital planning, valuation oversight, and strategic operational initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep private equity fund accounting expertise, strong technical accounting knowledge, and experience managing complex fund structures within an institutional investment environment.

Responsibilities as the Fund Controller:

  • Fund Accounting & Finance: Oversee the accounting and financial operations of investment funds and related entities while ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
  • Cash Management: Manage capital activity, cash flows, distributions, and other fund finance activities to support investment operations.
  • Financial Reporting: Support valuation processes, review financial reporting, and ensure the timely preparation of financial statements and investor reporting.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance, legal, operations, and external service providers to support fund administration, audits, tax reporting, and ongoing business initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, internal controls, and operational efficiency through process enhancements and technology solutions.

Qualifications for the Fund Controller:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: CPA designation is required. CFA designation is preferred.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of experience in fund accounting, fund finance, or financial reporting within private equity, closed-end funds, or alternative asset management is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting general partner accounting, private equity fund structures, capital activity, and investment operations is required. Experience with carried interest programs and ASC 820 fair value reporting is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required. Experience with fund accounting systems, data warehouse platforms, business intelligence tools, and financial reporting technologies is preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical, and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across cross-functional teams, oversee complex operational processes, and drive continuous process improvement within a fast-paced investment management environment.
